Henrico County Public Schools is ready for its next class of life-ready students! Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year is officially open in Henrico, and families will have the opportunity to begin the registration process online or visit their zoned elementary schools to complete the entire process in person during the 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff on Thursday, April 9.
Kindergarten registration is open for Henrico children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30 at https://www.henricoschools.us/page/registration-enrollment-2026-2027. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their child by July 1 to avoid potential delays at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
At our April 9 kickoff event, registrars and other staff at our 46 elementary schools will be on site and ready to guide families through each step of registration 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:30-6:30 p.m. Our experts work through as much of the process as they're able, based on available documentation, and lay out any additional steps required for the first day of school in August.
Documents needed to register include, but are not limited to:
Original/state-issued birth certificate
Proof of residency
Immunization records
Completed physical (dated no earlier than 12 months before the date your child will begin school)
Picture ID or driver’s license for parents/legal guardians that includes current Henrico address
Translation services will be available at the 2026-27 Kindergarten Registration Kickoff for multilingual families. Children are welcome to attend with their parents or guardians.
