Each year, we recognize one outstanding educator whose passion and commitment make a lasting difference for our students, families, and staff. This year, we’re proud to honor our librarian, Neeley Karkosak, as our Teacher of the Year!
Here’s what colleagues had to say about this amazing teacher:
"I would like to nominate Neeley Karkosak for teacher of the year for several reasons. She has created a warm and welcoming environment in the library. Students are excited to go the library during all available hours. She creates innovative lessons for the students each week and goes above and beyond with themed weeks such as Fat Bear Week, plans many other activities the students love, and she is co-leading the new Lego Club! She also is always friendly to the entire staff at Carver. She leads by example and works so great with her library assistant. She is a "yes and" kind of person with a great sense of humor! "
"I’d like to nominate Neely Karkosak for teacher of the year. Mrs. Karkosak goes above and beyond to support the growth and success of all of our students in every single class in the school. She supports the whole school through innovative initiatives and constantly finds ways to help busy teachers get more beautiful books into their daily routines. Mrs. Karkosak is always willing to step up, help out, and take the lead no matter what the task is."
From bringing the most up-to-date news about Fat Bear Week, to leading Ariwo House with heart, to closing each year with everyone's favorite camp-- Camp Karkosak, our Cougar community is ROARing with pride.
