Principal’s Message

Dear Ruby F. Carver Family,

Welcome back, Cougars! We are very excited to start the 2021-2022 school year. The staff is thrilled that you have entrusted your child’s education to us. This year’s theme is “TLC: Teaching, Learning, Caring.”  Our academic focus is on the success of all children through the practices of professional development, data analysis, effective planning, collaboration, prevention-oriented practices, shared best practices, progress monitoring, and student engagement. Through these efforts, we will all improve upon our practices….as well as improve outcomes for all of our AMAZING kids!

Of course, as the first teacher in your child’s life, we need and welcome your support and cooperation. Along with your assistance, I am committed to reviewing our current practices and developing new procedures in an effort to foster an optimal teaching and learning environment for all. Additionally, we encourage you to become active in our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which you will hear more from and about in the coming days and weeks. The PTA is a wonderful way for you to share ideas and support our students and school. Other ways to get involved include volunteering to help tutor students, chaperoning field trips, organizing classroom celebrations, offering to share your area of expertise to the classes/school, etc. We thank you for your continued support. I am available via email at and phone 804-750-2640. I look forward to another wonderful and AMAZING school year!

Carpe Diem (Seize The Day)
