Guide to In-Person and Virtual Learning

Henrico County Public Schools recently determined students/families may choose to return to elementary school buildings November 30 (PK-2) and December 7 (3-5). We are in the process of planning for our return to Carver Elementary.

Soon parents/guardians will be provided a survey from HCPS that asks you to determine if your children will return to school or continue with virtual learning. That decision will be binding for the remainder of the school year.

In order to make the best decision for your family, we want to provide you with detailed information about what in-person learning will look like, and what measures we will put in place for in-person learning. Student/teacher safety is our top priority to facilitate in-person learning.

We also want to be transparent about how a hybrid of virtual and in-person learning may affect instruction and staffing. Safety measures will not allow for collaborative instruction and group work as usual. Teacher changes are a strong possibility. Making your choice between in-person or virtual learning should be primarily based on what is best for your child’s learning and your family’s health and work needs.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. While the pandemic presents us with continued challenges, we are confident our Carver staff and community will successfully meet them together.

Dr. Eric Armbruster, Principal; Ashley Williams, Associate Principal
